Go Toxic Free: Your Make Up and Skin Care

Go Toxic Free: Your Make Up and Skin Care

Achieving the perfect glow doesn’t have to be expensive and it doesn’t need to compromise your health. Traditional makeup is surprisingly toxic to the body. A woman using an average amount of traditional makeup will apply more than 500 chemicals to her skin.  Say What!!!!

Thankfully, more and more companies are realising this threat, and, these days, you don’t have to sacrifice your health for that young, glowing, natural beauty. You can now achieve this without toxic products.

The first step to achieving a natural and healthy glow is by keeping yourself informed and being proactive in choosing only products that are clean, green, and truly good for your health.  As more information and research is available, more people are becoming increasingly aware of what they are putting on their skin

Here are some of the most common chemicals found in skin care, make up and personal care products

·      Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA) is an antioxidant, preservative, stabaliser and fragrance that can cause skin irritations and hormone disruption, It’s found in lipstick, eyeshadow and some petroleum products

·      Diethanolamine (DEA) is a pH adjuster and foaming agent. It causes skin irritation and it’s found in make- up and hair products

·      Phthalates dibutyl phthalate (DBP also DMP DEP) is a solvent fragrance and plasticizer and can damage the male reproductive system.  It’s found in nail polish, hair spray, perfumes, lotions, soaps and shampoo.

·     Fragrance, up to 3000 different ingredients to create a scent. It can cause skin irritations, allergic reactions, cancers and reproductive issues.  It’s found in most skincare products.

·      Formaldehyde is used as a preservative.  It is carcinogenic, causes skin irritations, skin allergy and rashes.  It’s used in hair products – gel, wax etc, nail products, soap, cosmetics, baby shampoos

·      Parabens are a preservative and known hormone disruptors.  They’re found in make-up, moisturisers, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cleansers, shaving products and lotions

Many companies now offer toxic-free makeup products that use ingredients that have been verified to be safe, beautiful, and just truly amazing. Even better, there are organizations that dedicate their time to identifying and introducing only healthy, toxic-free products on the market.

Many women are afraid to make the switch to natural makeup products because of the misconception that they are not effective. Natural cosmetic products are new, but if you foster an open mind, you will find out just how beneficial they are. Since they do not have any harsh chemicals and toxins, these products are better for your skin. Many even have nutritional value to support skin rejuvenation, refinement, and repair, without any possible side effects.

Organic cosmetic products are made from natural ingredients grown on chemical-free farms. This offers a two-fold solution—not only are you saving yourself from the negative effects of chemicals in conventional makeup, but you are supporting healthy, natural, sustainable farming! Organic products are made from more eco-friendly ingredients and therefore do not have a negative impact on the environment.

These are just a few of the reasons why organic makeup is a trend that’s catching on with women all over the world. Many women are beginning to see just how wonderful organic makeup is and just how well it stacks up to its more toxic competitors. So if it is healthier, more glowing skin that you want, choosing toxic-free makeup is your best choice.
